Give each printed piece a purpose
A business card should make it easy to contact or remember you. A brochure can explain service choices and answer the questions customers usually ask. A postcard can focus on one timely offer. Choose the format according to that task rather than squeezing the same layout into every size.
Choose finish with real use in mind
Review the paper, coating and corner options shown on the product page. Ask for a sample when surface feel or color is especially important. If the customer needs to write on the piece, confirm that the selected finish supports the intended pen. A screen cannot show the feel of a paper stock.
Prepare the artwork for the final size
Use the product’s artwork template and requested bleed and safe area. Keep type and logos clear of trim and folds. In a brochure, design for the actual panel order; a flat file read left-to-right may not match the folded piece.
- Use high-quality original images and check them at final print size.
- Proofread phone numbers, prices, dates and URLs separately from the design review.
- Print a paper mockup, fold it and test every QR code before approving.
Understand the production handoff
The file is checked against the selected format, printed on the ordered stock, and finished for that order. Cutting, folding and specialty finishing affect the completed piece. Confirm the proof and production schedule after the specifications and artwork are settled.
Make the next action worth keeping
A barber card can carry a booking link; a contractor brochure can organize services with a quote request; a postcard can show a specific offer and expiry. Use a campaign code or dedicated link so staff can connect the print to inquiries. If planning a mailed campaign, verify USPS size and mailing requirements before designing the piece.
