Choose one audience and one action
Start with a concrete goal: appointments for a new service, quote requests from nearby homeowners, or visits during an event. Then choose the print location and message that fit that audience. A short headline should make the benefit understandable before the customer reads the details.
Create a path from print to order
Use a visible sign or banner to attract attention, then a card, QR code or short web address to continue the conversation. Link to the relevant product, booking form or offer—not an unrelated page. Make the destination easy to use on a phone and keep the offer terms consistent.
Keep the offer precise
State the eligible product or service, included options and any expiry. A coupon for a standard white A-frame should not suggest every frame type qualifies. Give staff the same wording as the ad. Use the share link supplied by the back office so customers arrive with the correct coupon information.
Test placement and track the result
Assign a different code or tagged link to each campaign. Log how many pieces were distributed, where they appeared, inquiries received and completed orders. Compare the result with your print and promotion cost. A scan is an intermediate signal; it is not the same as an order.
- Test the actual printed QR code on more than one phone.
- Ask new customers how they found you.
- Change one major variable at a time so you know what helped.
Use mail with a plan
USPS Every Door Direct Mail offers route-based mail planning. Check current eligibility, size rules, quantities and postage directly with USPS before preparing artwork or ordering a mailing batch. Combine the printed piece with a relevant landing page and a way to record responses.
Follow up like a helpful business
When a customer starts a conversation, answer the product question first. Confirm size, quantity and the intended use before recommending a configuration. Keep a human handoff available for artwork, unusual installations or an unresolved pricing question. Improve the campaign using actual customer questions, not assumptions about why they left.
